We now advise all not to travel overseas at this time, due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel. This includes to Tonga. If you’re already overseas and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means. From 19 March, cruise ships and yachts will not be granted entry, and international flights will be reduced. You'll need to complete a health declaration card on arrival. If you’re travelling from one of 46 countries, including Australia, you'll need to self-quarantine for 14 days in Fiji or New Zealand, and obtain a medical clearance within three days prior to arriving in Tonga. Tongan citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate families are exempt, but they will need to quarantine for 14 days on arrival. We now advise you to: Do not travel to Tonga.
